Need some advice
by KICKED OUT ini have not been on here in a long time but i have always valued the advice of everyone, so here goes.....i am dfd and my wife has never been a part of the org.
we are getting ready to have our first child in may.
my mother who is now living in patterson(at one of the motherships) speaks to me every 1 to 2 years.

So here is an update:
My mother just called me and we spoke for the first time in 5 yrs. She called to say her and my sister will be attending my wifes baby shower. She also wanted to make sure it was OK if she came after the birth to help out. So me and my wife have decided to try it out and see if anything good comes of it (i think its worth a shot). But i will be quick to pull the plug if she tries to preach.

Remember when assemblies were fun?
by Aphrodite ini just remembered when i was a kid and we would go to the assembly, it was fun because we got to buy new clothes and put extra effort into looking good.
when we would get there you could save your seats and even save some for your friends, then go off looking for them.. i used to love our circuit assembly because of the food.
it was at the assembly hall and there was a big kitchen, some of my favourite brothers worked in that kitchen, sometimes i was allowed to go in and help.

Worf.....You used to go to the Queens Ass. Hall ? They used to have that Ice cream section that was the Sh@#t. How bout walkin over to the White castle or Wendys, that was the ultimate JW freedom.
How about the danishes, I would eat as many of those as I could get.
Yankee stadium was great caus I got on the field.
Dramas were fun because if they were not good you could nap alittle(dim lights)

Comical Memories While You Were A Witness
by minimus inin all the years i was a witness, i must admit there were some pretty funny things that i can remember.
i can't forget the time after i had given a public talk and the sister who played the piano ran from the bathroom to the piano with half of her dress still tucked in her pantyhose.
brothers and sisters were trying in vain to run down the long aisle but to no avail.

One of the microphone weilding henchmen brought it into the bathroom with him and forgot to turn it off. When you started to hear the "river" flowin you saw at least 4-5 brothers haulin ass to the bathroom to alert him...that was some funny stuff

by KICKED OUT inanyone know the current view on school sports...that was a big issue for me(it was a big no-no).
i have lost touch over the last 9 yrs.
it seemed they started going the use your concense route because some of my dub friends started to play.

You all have helped so much with the Mom Issue...So here is issue #2

I have really felt a weight off my shoulders since bringing up my first story yesterday, so I would like to tell another story of my life, if for no other reason than to finally talk about it. Once again sugesstions on how to deal with this trauma is much needed. I was Dfd at 13 for the first time. It was a crazy experiance because it involved 4 kingdom halls and 10 teenagers. I was concidered the ring leader because out off the all the kids I was the only one baptized. My step father and mother were so upset with me that they did not let me stay home alone after the DFing. It was the summer time so I was out of school and both parents worked, so they had the bright idea of me going to work with my step father, and for 2 months for about 8-10 hours a day had to stay in the family mini van so i couldnt get in trouble anymore. At the time as a brainwashed 13 yr old, that wanted to do anything to get back in favor with family and friends, I didnt think it was a big deal but looking back with a clear head I cant believe they did that to me. Has anyone ever had anything like this happen to them???
PS..I would like to apoligize in advance for my spelling...That is because the complete lack of respect for education drilled into me as a youngster.LOL

First off to rimfire, welcome to the board, and thanks to everyone that has posted. From what I have gathered from all posts I have realized I need to think with my head and not only my heart. Once again thanks for all the advice and i will keep u all informed on the results. anyone else have anything to add feel free.
